BROOKE GLADSTONE: We're back with On the Media. I'm Brooke Gladstone.
BOB GARFIELD: And I'm Bob Garfield with a few of your letters. Last week we spoke with Al Franken and Alan Colmes about a liberal answer to Rush Limbaugh and other strong conservative voices in the media.
BROOKE GLADSTONE:Paul Murray from Pocatello, Idaho wrote "Someone should tell these guys that the people will listen to them when they climb off their high horses. Doesn't Franken appreciate the absurdity of his posturing as too pure to do a show like Limbaugh's, even as he's stereotyping conservatives as simplistic, black and white thinkers and the president of the United States as a liar?"
BOB GARFIELD:And Douglas Nelson from Dahlgren, Virginia took it a step further. He wrote: "What I heard was worse than I expected. The producers of this show are openly and self-consciously attempting to indoctrinate America as to the philosophy of the Democratic Party." Douglas goes on to say "I could not believe what I was hearing."
BROOKE GLADSTONE:Probably won't be for the last time, so keep conveying that disbelief to us at onthemedia@wnyc.org and don't forget to tell us where you live and how to pronounce your name. [MUSIC TAG]
