OVERLOOKED: Long-Overdue Obituaries for Great Women Who Never Got Them

Only about 20 percent of the obituaries in The New York Times throughout history have been for women. In a new project called “Overlooked,” The New York Times is trying to fix that, writing new obits in the paper for remarkable women who never got them. The Takeaway is sharing some of their stories, plus listener nominations for great women in history who have not gotten the attention they deserve.
